BIOGRAPHICAL INFO

This Awesome Family is a music project I started in 2020. I, Eric Gonzales, was born in Austin, TX in 1979 and was introduced to my first local music scene in Houston, TX by age 12. My older brother opened my ears and eyes to Texas bands through cassette tapes and VHS recordings of artists such as Retarted Elf, Billygoat, Crazy Killed Mingus and Bouffant Jellyfish.

My musical experience covers almost three decades now and I have dedicated a considerable amount of time to learning several instruments. My current demo is in progress, and I have written, performed and recorded all of the parts by myself. I hope to get a full album done by the end of the year. Your support could make this goal attainable.

I want all of us to decide what the future holds, so we don't repeat the mistakes of our past and those of prior generations. This Awesome Family also serves as a reminder to find what is most important in our world without focusing on the negative, and I hope it embarks all of us on a journey to reshape our society through music and art.
